About Us

Our Mission Statement

At Little Leaf Learners, our mission is to provide a nurturing, nature-based learning environment where children are encouraged to grow holistically — socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. Through rich experiences in nature play, pre-kindy education, and hands-on exploration, we foster diverse skill development that prepares children for lifelong learning. Central to our approach is building trusting, respectful relationships, ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive in both their learning and wellbeing.

What We Offer

Families receive thoughtful daily photo updates and gentle insights into their child’s learning, play, and developmental journey. All learning materials and resources are provided, carefully selected to support rich, play-based experiences in nature. We prioritise high-quality safety practices, with appropriate safety equipment, sun protection, and first aid supplies available at all times. To ensure children remain comfortable and supported in all conditions, we also provide access to sheltered and undercover spaces during wet weather or periods of high UV. Our program is aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and delivered by qualified early childhood educators.

Connection

 Our Program

At Little Leaf Learners, our program is thoughtfully designed to support children’s growth through meaningful, hands-on experiences in nature. Each day blends child-led exploration with gentle guidance from qualified educators, allowing children to follow their interests while feeling safe, supported, and deeply connected to their environment.

Our outdoor learning days may include bush and creek exploration, gardening, sensory play, creative arts, nature crafts, movement, and opportunities for rest and regulation. Children are encouraged to build independence, confidence, and resilience as they engage in real-world experiences at their own pace.

We prioritise small group sizes, active supervision, and responsive care, creating a calm and nurturing space where every child is seen, heard, and valued. While the environment is rich and adventurous, safety is always at the heart of what we do — with clear boundaries, risk-assessed experiences, and educators who tune in closely to each child’s needs.

Our program supports school readiness, social connection, and emotional wellbeing, while nurturing a lifelong love of learning and the natural world.

Why Nature-Based Learning?

Nature-based learning offers children the time, space, and freedom to learn in ways that feel natural, meaningful, and deeply engaging. When children learn outdoors, they move their bodies, follow their curiosity, and connect with the world around them — supporting their development in a holistic and balanced way.

Spending extended time in nature supports physical development, emotional wellbeing, and self-regulation. Children build strength, coordination, and confidence as they climb, run, balance, and explore, while also learning to pause, observe, and care for their environment. These experiences nurture resilience, problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of self.

Nature provides endless opportunities for creativity, inquiry, and connection. From watching insects and tending gardens to experimenting with water, mud, and loose parts, children engage in rich learning that supports early literacy, numeracy, and social development in authentic, real-world contexts.

At Little Leaf Learners, we believe nature-based learning supports calm, capable, and confident children — fostering a lifelong love of learning, respect for the natural world, and a strong foundation for future schooling and wellbeing.

Our Team.

At Little Leaf Learners, our team is made up of passionate, qualified educators who value connection, curiosity, and nature-based learning. Our educators create safe, nurturing environments where children are seen as capable learners and supported to grow in confidence, resilience, and independence.

We believe strong relationships are the foundation of meaningful learning and are proud to offer thoughtful, play-rich experiences that support each child’s wellbeing and development.
