Frequently Asked Questions

What ages does Little Leaf Learners cater for?

Little Leaf Learners is designed for children aged 2–10 years. Our program supports child-led learning, confidence, and school readiness through calm, nature-based experiences that meet children where they are developmentally.

Where are sessions held?

Our sessions are held at a range of locations across the Southern Gold Coast. This is dependent on term bookings, family feedback and seasonal changes. All current locations are outlined under each day's booking tab.

What is the difference between permanent and casual bookings?

Permanent bookings are term-based and secure the same day each week, supporting routine and connection. Casual bookings are offered on an as-available basis and are ideal for families seeking flexibility or wanting to explore the program before committing to a permanent place.

How do you manage safety in an outdoor program?

Children’s safety and wellbeing are always our priority. All experiences are risk-assessed and actively supervised, with clear boundaries, small group sizes, and qualified educators. Our program balances safe practices with opportunities for children to build confidence, resilience, and independence in nature.

What should my child bring?

Families are asked to provide a wide-brim hat, lunch, snacks, a full water bottle, weather-appropriate clothing, and a spare set of clothes. All learning resources, safety equipment, sunscreen, insect repellent, and first aid supplies are provided.

What happens if a day is full?

If a day is full, families are welcome to join the waitlist. We’ll be in touch if a space becomes available or if additional opportunities open on that day.

How many educators per child?

At Little Leaf Learners, we believe children learn best when given the time, space and freedom to connect and explore. That's why we keep our ratios low and well under the national requirements. We run roughly a 1 educator to 5 children ratio regardless of age.

Do I have to pay if my child is sick?

Yes. For children enrolled in a permanent position, fees are payable regardless of attendance, as your child’s place is reserved exclusively for them each week. This allows us to maintain small group sizes, consistent staffing, and high-quality learning experiences. We kindly ask that unwell children remain at home to support the wellbeing of all children and educators.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to get in touch — we’re always happy to chat.
